Stone Sculptures by Joy

The stone sculptures on this page are Joy's personal expressions of life.

Joy finds stone carving somewhat therapeutic. She picks subjects that have an emotional connection to her and from the outset she plans and works with great care to make sure that when she has finished her creative carvings they are not only visually stimulating but they also carry a personal message.

Her confidence and skills have developed whilst attending stone carving night classes at Papanui High School and she now works quickly in the early stages of her sculpture with little tuition.

She also has a number of the tools needed to carve and continues sculpting from her home.
